A Note from our Principal Happy May Day and welcome to the busiest month of the school year!
We like to celebrate a successful school year by having all of our field trips, field days, special days, letter days, programs and concerts in a span of three weeks! I’m kidding - but also very aware of how full our calendar is, so please carefully read your child’s weekly newsletter and the school’s webpage to stay caught up with the comings and goings here at CES!

A Note from our Principal
Welcome to April! I’m ready for some showers☔ and flowers🌺! We’ve already had a taste of warmer weather, and I’m sure we’ll get more of that in the upcoming weeks.
April is a very busy month with programs, fun nights and field trips, and with Kansas State Assessments beginning Tuesday, April 1. It’s important your child is here on time, ready to learn, at 8:45 am. Please make sure your child is here every day, on time, so they get the full benefit of all we do here at CES. The doors to the school open at 8:35 am, and we start serving breakfast immediately, so there’s plenty of time for your child to eat, get unpacked and settled before the 8:45 am bell rings. While we want students on time, please do not drop them off in the front prior to 8:35 am. There is no one there to supervise them. We start moving kids off buses, into the building, and out of cars at 8:35 am; please plan accordingly.

A Note from our Principal
After a very cold February that was made even shorter due to snow days, it’s nice to see “March” on the calendar and welcome warm air! Spring Break will be here before we know it, but we’ve got some good things to share with you before we get there.

What a month! January gave us a few snow days, but between illness and inside recess days, January felt long! We’re looking forward to February and all the fun we can squeeze into the shortest month of the year.
